“Speak tenderly to them. Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting. Always have a cheerful smile. Don’t only give your care, but give your heart as well.”

– Mother Teresa

I am a DONA International trained Birth Doula, providing emotional, physical and knowledge support for mom’s to be in the Kerry and Cork area, including hospital and home births.

What is a Doula?

As a birth doula, I accompany women and their birth partners during labour and birth to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. I have completed training approved by DONA International. I work according to DONA code of ethics and best practise. I also have the following experience;

  1. A certified GentleBirth Instructor
  2. A Qualified Pregnancy Reflexologist and Pregnancy Massage Therapist

I draw on my professional training, knowledge and experience to provide emotional support, physical comfort and knowledge. I can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labour progress, and help with relaxation, massage, acupressure, positioning and other techniques for comfort. As your doula, I am working for you, not your care provider or hospital.

Choosing a Doula:

It is very important that you and your birth partner are comfortable with the doula you choose and with their role during labour and the birth. Having a good connection with your doula is really important during this special time.  Ask yourself “Could I happily spend time with this person while stuck in a lift?”.
